Maverick’s story began on a hard note-he and his 9 siblings were abandoned by their owner and brought to the shelter on 4/1/2025. Understandably, that kind of betrayal left him cautious, and he’s still learning that not all humans will let him down. Once he feels comfortable, though, Maverick’s sweetness shines through, showing the gentle and loving dog he truly is. He currently shares a room with his sister Emily, and having another dog by his side seems to give him confidence and comfort. Maverick is crate trained, walks nicely on a leash, and is quietly hoping for a patient and understanding home where he’ll be given the time he needs to fully trust again. With kindness, consistency, and maybe even a furry companion to show him the ropes, Maverick is sure to blossom into the loyal, loving friend he was always meant to be.
