A Community Approach
Putnam County Animal Services is a dedicated and hardworking team committed to the well-being of both the animals and the community we serve. Covering over 800 square miles, our small but passionate staff works tirelessly to provide care, safety, and protection for animals in need.
As advocates for the voiceless, we strive to educate the public on responsible pet ownership while ensuring the animals in our shelter receive the enrichment, socialization, and medical care they deserve. Though county-funded, we rely heavily on the generosity of our community through donations and support.
We regularly host adoption events to help our animals find loving, permanent homes and actively collaborate with private rescues, veterinarians, and other organizations to expand our impact. At Putnam County Animal Services, our mission is simple: to create a safer, more compassionate world for animals and the people who love them.
